The Alabama Department of Commerce, through its Office of Small Business Advocacy, provides small businesses with the information, tools and resources needed to grow and succeed, including assistance with financing opportunities and regulatory guidance.
The department works closely with the Alabama Small Business Development Center Network, coordinating efforts with its 10 Small Business Development Centers located at universities across the state. In addition, the department partners with numerous organizations throughout Alabama that are dedicated to supporting and advancing small business development.

Small Businesses Get Training Boost from Alabama SBDC
TUSCALOOSA, Alabama — With funding from the U.S. Treasury’s State Small Business Credit Initiative, the Alabama Small Business Development Center at The University of Alabama launched the AssistAL program to significantly increase its capacity for technical assistance in the form of advising and training to help business owners get the capital they need.
